We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Sourcing Specialist This position reports to the Strategic Sourcing Manager and will work in Limerick, PA.
About the position
As Sourcing Specialist of the Limerick, PA team, you will be involved in. sourcing, negotiating, coordinate and managing all aspects of a supplier selection and onboarding process. Additionally, the successful candidate will work with Dometic Marine Strategic Sourcing colleagues to seek out new opportunities to improve cost, source of supply and reduce supply base of current parts and materials by effectively managing the supply base. You will also be responsible for data management and KPI tracking for the Strategic Sourcing Group.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Prepare RFQ’s and seek quotes from current or new suppliers, negotiate price, incoterms, delivery, tooling cost, lead-times, payment terms etc
- Analyze and calculate product component costs, negotiate lowest total cost of ownership with suppliers and review quotes against similar manufacturing methods, processes and market trends
- Conduct “spend analysis” to determine top “spend” items, commodities, activities or suppliers to leverage and promote the most effective use of company funds.
- Track Strategic Sourcing KPI’s on monthly basis
- Negotiate prices and commercial issues/terms regarding cost, delivery, replenishment lead time, shipping, etc. within assigned commodities or projects.
- Renegotiate, track and report price increases, minimize and control cost increases
- Monitor raw materials to minimize increases of materials costs.
- Identify and lead cost reduction opportunities within assigned commodities, by re-negotiating, resourcing, redesigning or consolidating supplier base.
- Support and manage sourcing activities throughout new product development and launches stages, participation in product launch meetings, manage and report on supplier or supply readiness to meet product launch schedule.
- Conduct “make vs. buy” analysis and make recommendations accordingly.
- Issue and manage pre-production and early production purchase orders, monitor delivery and quality.
- Issue and manage tooling PO, monitor tooling construction progress, ensure on-time completion and approval of tools.
- Initiate, track and manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submission requirements, ensure timely completion.
- Facilitate or assist to resolve supplier quality issues, support to evaluate and monitor on-going supplier quality and technical capabilities and performance.
- Maintain a good working relationship with suppliers and internal departments.
- Ensure compliance to the Dometic Code of Conduct.

Skills & Requirements
A suitable background would be a solid experience within manufacturing and sourcing as well as the following qualifications and experiences:
- Degree or certificate in business, supply chain management, engineering, project management or a related discipline.
- Entrepreneurial experience / mindset. Purchasing or Strategic Sourcing in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Project Management knowledge and skills are highly desired
- Experience with a wide range and variety of components, processes and commodities an asset.
- Familiar with MRP systems, able to read and understand multi-layer BOM’s.
- Good knowledge of supplier quality practices
- Project Management knowledge and skills
- Good knowledge and or prior sourcing / purchasing history of one or more of the commodities / categories including but not limited to:
- mechanical parts such as various types of precision machining, metal fabrication, plastic injection molding, etc.
- electronics / electrical products such as PCBA, wire cable, motors
- hardware such as fasteners, fittings, seals, bearings etc.
- Reasonable math skills, able to form basic formulas and intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel.
- Proficiency / intermediate to MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, able to learn other applications quickly.
