Job Responsibilities
- Provides an unexpected level of service where even unspoken needs are met
- Cleans and services assigned guest rooms in a timely and organized manner according to
Mariners Suites procedures and standards; participates daily in morning prep
- Collects and strips laundry from rooms according to standards and delivers to laundry
room
- Collects and delivers trash to outside trash receptacle
- Records information on housekeeping sheet to notify front desk when room is complete
and reports any room unable to be serviced in a timely manner
- Reports maintenance issues in a timely manner using maintenance tickets
- Ensures the housekeeping cart, supplies, and supply rooms are neat and organized at all
times
- Wear latex gloves at all times while cleaning or handling soiled linens
- Maintains security of keys and ensures the safekeeping of guest rooms and supply rooms
- Assists in laundry room when needed
- Operates washers and dryers according to policies and procedures; ensures proper usage of chemicals
- Folds clean linens and stores appropriately
- Ensures cleanliness of all public areas as assigned by the manager
- Reports and records lost and found items to front desk. ALL items must be turned into the front desk.
- Knows all emergency procedures
- Responds to guest requests promptly and courteously
- Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress
- Follows company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management
Supervisory Responsibilities & Interactions
- No supervisory responsibilities
- Interacts with maintenance to relay needs for service
- Interacts with Front Desk to verify room availability, laundry needs and room cleaning assignments
- Interacts with Front Desck/General Manager to keep informed of events/functions in the hotel, and daily room cleaning assignments
- Interacts with hotel guests to provide an unexpected level of guest service
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills are preferred
- Must be able to read and understand labels on chemical bottles and understand their
uses
- Attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills are a must
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 25-35 pounds, as well as be able to
reach with hands and arms, kneel, stoop, and walk for long periods of time
- Excellent communication skills
Performance Standards
- Cleans and services all guest rooms and common areas as assigned
- Participation in morning prep, laundry procedures and trash collection as assigned
- Completes housekeeping sheets, maintenance tickets and lost and found tickets
- Must perform all duties to Mariners Suites standards
- Maintain control of all issued keys and preparation of supplies and carts
- Professional appearance and excellent attendance and punctuality
- Adhere to all the company BASICS, you will be reviewed on the BASICS
Working Conditions
- May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.
- Will be required to work in a fast paced environment
- May be called in during off hours for emergencies
- May be asked to work overtime
- Must be flexible to work different hours each day depending on the hotel’s occupancy
- Will be required to work with common household chemicals
- Will be required to lift heavy soiled linens
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $12.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
