Job Summary:
A remodeler is responsible for renovating, repairing, and upgrading residential and commercial buildings. This role involves working with clients, contractors, and designers to transform spaces according to specific plans and needs. The ideal candidate should have hands-on construction experience, knowledge of building codes, and the ability to work with a variety of materials and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demolition & Prep Work: Remove old structures, flooring, and fixtures safely.
- Carpentry & Framing: Install, repair, and modify woodwork, drywall, cabinetry, and other structures.
- Flooring & Tile Work: Lay down hardwood, laminate, tile, or other flooring materials.
- Plumbing & Electrical Support: Assist in minor plumbing and electrical updates (as allowed by regulations).
- Painting & Finishing: Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to surfaces.
- Fixture Installation: Install cabinets, countertops, doors, windows, sinks, and other home or commercial fixtures.
- Blueprint & Design Interpretation: Read and follow project plans, blueprints, and client specifications.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work meets building codes, safety standards, and client expectations.
- Customer Communication: Work directly with homeowners, business owners, and designers to ensure satisfaction.
- Material Handling: Source, transport, and manage materials needed for the job.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in construction, remodeling, or related trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.
- Knowledge of building codes, permits, and safety procedures.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials.
- Strong work ethic and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A valid driver’s license may be required.
