1. PRIMARY PURPOSE –
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality and consistency by implementing and maintaining quality assurance protocols, conducting inspections, analyzing data, and providing guidance to enhance processes. This role aims to safeguard adherence to regulatory requirements, optimize production efficiency, and uphold customer satisfaction through meticulous quality control measures.

2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES –
- Assist in producing SDS sheets in a timely manner and ensure a process is established to ensure all SDS Sheets are distributed per regulation(s) and are State Compliant (OSHA). Ensure Marion Ag is compliant with CFATS.
- Produce Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and/or Product Spec sheets in the initial stages and the development of a process to ensure continual compliance.
- Assist Quality head with monitoring and maintaining document control, including all SOPs.
- Notify supervisors of any job-related issues or needs, especially fertilizer spills or accidents.
- Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, (ISO 9001), and regulatory/legal compliance requirements.
- Assist with audit preparation and action items.
- Liaison with production for all quality-related matters and documenting all responsibilities to inspect production and in-process quality. Initiate and investigate Corrective Action Reports when applicable.
- Review and approve the Quality Control Technician’s Production logging and records.
- Coordinate quarterly vendor reevaluations with QMS team and purchasers. Track and log results.
- Coordinate and track monthly fertilizer retain samples and results for quality testing with QMS team and laboratory.
- Assist with acquiring laboratory reports on products, as needed.
- Assist in management, development and changes surrounding Marion Ag Service’s Quality Management System.
- Report to QMS Head on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
- Oversee or assist in product recalls.
- Respond to internal and external information requests and influence positive change externally by representing Marion Ag Service, Inc to regulatory agencies, industry organizations, customers, and suppliers to drive outcomes favorable to the Company.
- Verification and collection of data regarding KPI’s (On-Time Delivery, Product Quality, Customer feedback)
- Work on special projects, as assigned.
