We are seeking a candidate that can assist with accurate and timely computer entry of data, record keeping, preparing reports and generating related information as required. Working with public housing and voucher tenants and managers to ensure smooth operations and timely re-certifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional image and attitude as a liaison between MCHA and applicants.
- Receive Tenant paperwork and apply it to PHA-WEB files.
- Process applications and approve selections from waiting lists in accordance with established Authority and HUD policies and guidelines. Maintains waiting lists.
- Monitor applicant placement on the waiting list(s) taking into consideration date and time of application and related factors outlined in the respective Program’s Policies, such as the Administrative Plan and the Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP). Must ensure applicants are properly placed on the waiting list pursuant to the Authority’s Policies and HUD regulations.
- Create checklist and perform proper applicant screening processes including background checks, criminal history and credit checks.
- Ensure processing of interim and regular re-examination of incomes and family composition and initiates transfers when required.
- Maintain records of all correspondence and obtained information in the tenant file. Must maintain an efficient filing and records system for residents.
- Assists Property Managers in the creation and delivery of tenant surveys to gather input for tenant service needs
- Maintain records and reports on applicants pursuant to Federal regulatory requirements.
- Assists AMP managers and HCV Specialist by sending letters for appointments, notifications of service schedules, housekeeping, recertification’s, etc.
- Create and compile tenant lease files to meet federal audit standards.
- Conduct housekeeping inspections.
- Track recertification and housekeeping for PH.
- Receive and review recertification paperwork.
- Ability to troubleshoot technology issues within the PH software or on mobile devices
- Strictly adhere to safety policies and procedures to prevent injury and maintain a safe work and living environment.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communications; A high degree of initiative in managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, detail oriented environment; Ability to comprehend and interpret complex rules, regulations and laws; good organizational skills; ability to exercise good judgment; Ability to interact with diverse and special interest populations with tact and courtesy; Ability to work independently with frequent interruptions and to deal with high stress situations calmly and effectively; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer use. Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, mail merge, and Apple IOS a plus. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with co-workers and the general public.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sociology or related field or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is desired. Normal physical strength to handle routine office materials. Valid driver’s license and insurability required. Drug free workplace, EOE.
