Job Description: Construction Estimator
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and personable Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multiple trades, exceptional analytical skills, and a client-focused approach. This role involves conducting site visits, gathering project data, and preparing detailed cost estimates for concrete, landscaping, hardscaping, irrigation, flooring, remodeling, electrical and general construction projects. The Construction Estimator will play a key role in delivering accurate estimates and providing creative solutions to meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Visits and Data Collection
- Visit project locations to gather detailed information, including measurements, photographs, and videos.
- Assess site conditions to identify challenges and opportunities.
2. Project Analysis and Estimation
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to determine scope and necessary resources.
- Documenting comprehensive cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs for projects such as roofing, concrete restoration, landscaping, and general construction.
3. Client Interaction and Solutions
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, present project ideas, and provide solutions to construction challenges.
- Build trust and rapport with clients by being attentive, personable, and solution-oriented.
4. Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with supervisors, management, and other team members to gather essential project information.
- Provide detailed and accurate documentation using digital tools, such as iPads, to ensure project records are thorough and organized.
5. Professional Knowledge
- Stay up to date on construction management practices, cost control methods, and relevant building codes, including the latest Florida Building Codes.
Qualifications
1. Experience
- Minimum of 10 years in the construction industry, with onsite experience as a laborer and foreman across multiple trades, including plumbing, concrete, landscaping, A/C, electrical, foundational work, fencing, decks, plants, and hardscaping.
2. Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
3. Skills and Attributes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex blueprints and specifications.
- Highly personable and able to connect with clients, actively listen, and offer trustworthy solutions.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with digital tools, including iPads, for documentation and data management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively within a team.
4. Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of construction management practices and cost control methods.
- Familiarity with the latest Florida Building Codes is a plus.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
