Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time E911 Dispatcher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving emergency calls and dispatching appropriate responders to the scene. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to public safety.
Responsibilities:
- Answer emergency calls from the public and promptly gather essential information.
- Determine the nature and location of the emergency.
- Dispatch emergency units to the scene according to established procedures.
- Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers, if necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all calls and dispatches.
- Monitor radio frequencies for incoming calls from field units and provide assistance as needed.
- Coordinate with other emergency agencies as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a dispatcher or in a related field preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with computer-aided dispatch systems (CAD) is a plus.
- Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
