Title: Maintenance- General
Reports to: Director of Operations/Assistant Director Of Operations
Work Schedule: 12 months, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week
Qualifications:
a. High School diploma or equivalent
b. Demonstrates aptitude or competence for duties as assigned
c. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Directors may find appropriate and acceptable.
d. Present self in a positive image that represents a desire to achieve excellence in skills with a positive attitude.
e. Experience in building maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment preferred.
Job Goal:
Maintain the physical school plant and district equipment in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of each may be used at all times.
Performance Responsibilities:
Assist and or perform installation and repair of district toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, drinking fountains, flush valves, faucets, and kitchen equipment.
Assist and or perform installation and maintenance on doors, windows, locks, lighting, electrical and other building equipment and furnishings as needed.
Assist with preventative maintenance of district air handling units, unit ventilators, fans, air compressors, air dryers, air conditioners, coolers-freezers and other related HVAC equipment.
Perform preventative and general maintenance on tractors, mowers, and other ground equipment as needed.
Assist and/or perform layout of district football fields, soccer fields and activity lines and maintenance as directed by the grounds supervisor.
Assist and/or perform lawn mowing, fertilizing, weed control, watering and reseeding of district grounds as directed by the grounds supervisor.
Assist with snow removal and spreading of salt-sand on district-owned parking lots and playgrounds.
Be available for an on call person in the event of an emergency and/or responding to district alarm calls.
Move chairs, risers, band, and other equipment as directed to various district buildings.
Assist and/or perform replacement of district sidewalks and concrete as determined by the appropriate supervisor.
Keep all district roofs and roof drains clear of all debris as directed.
Repair, install and maintain playground equipment and surfacing as instructed.
Assist and/or maintain district maintenance vehicles as required.
Assist other maintenance personnel in their normal duties as requested by the appropriate supervisor.
Substitute district lunch van routes on an as needed basis for the purpose of delivering student meals to the various buildings.
