Manufacturing Night Manager

Marion Masonry Materials is seeking a 2nd Shift Night Manager for their manufacturing operation.

The position is responsible night-operation from 4:00pm - 2:00am of the manufacturing plant, including but not limited to safety, maintenance, production, operational efficiencies, inventory control, environmental compliance, customer service, and the support and mentoring of the employees. He/she will report to the company’s Plant Manager.

2nd Shift Night Manager

Directs and manages the Manufacturing operations of Marion Masonry Materials in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Provides leadership, management, and expertise to the manufacturing functions of a precast concrete producer. Monitors and controls operations to achieve safety, cost, quantity, schedule, and quality goals.

Responsibilities:

· Manages activities of manufacturing, including dry-cast, wet-cast, pre-stressed, batching, carpentry, welding and fabrication, material handling, and product curing.

· Directs the 2nd Shift Night-Team creating and manicuring a culture of motivated employees, this creating bench-strength, and a culture of hiring from within the company.

· Lead culture around safety by defining and reinforcing safe work environments, “rewarding” safe behavior, and taking quick corrective actions to ensure un-safe behaviors are not repeated. Lead and invite participation at routine safety meetings.

· Monitors the performance of plant by measuring labor, downtime, and output. Additionally driving culture of continuous improvement.

· Ensures proper operation of all equipment by following standard processes for production and maintenance daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly.

· In coordination with purchasing, maintaining require required materials and repair/service parts for production.

· Manages supervisors of Quality Control, driving production of products exceeding the standard requirements of industry, and Maintenance, ensuring plan is in place to define root-causes of failures as well as seeing planned/scheduled maintenance is met.

· Leads culture in the workplace where Customer Satisfaction and Employee Satisfaction compliment each other and where actions for each are measured to see high customer and employee retention.

· Works with Plant Manager to support inventory management and production scheduling.

Qualifications

· 7 years concrete precast manufacturing experience and 3 years of manufacturing management experience.

· Excellent leadership and communication skills.

· Experience in operation excellence in production and/or manufacturing.

· Sound planning skills

· Sound computer skills – Excel and Word
