Founded in 2001 by Executive Chairman, John Williams, Maritime Transport has evolved from small beginnings into a leading logistics company with a turnover exceeding £400m.
To date, the company employs 3,000 personnel across 40 sites including a network of strategic rail freight terminals, with a cutting-edge fleet of 1,300 Euro-6 trucks and over 50 container handlers servicing a number of trains, daily. Maritime has a proven track record as an intermodal operator, developing and delivering low carbon, container logistics solutions for first and final miles, and pioneering the modal shift of UK domestic distribution from road to rail.
In 2024, the company was acquired by Swiss-based global logistics and supply chain provider, MEDLOG S.A., supporting Maritime’s growth strategy and strengthening its market position as the UK’s leading provider of integrated road and rail freight logistics.
