Job Description:
The primary function of the Culinary Aide is to assist the chefs at Mark Arts while maintaining the cleanliness and smooth operation of the culinary studio. This position will have a range of duties which include studio set up and clean up as well as preparing and presenting food. Maintaining studio cleanliness standards are of utmost importance.
Duties:
- Prepping the studio by setting up supplies and equipment
- Assisting chefs with food preparation and presentations
- Ensuring the culinary studio remains clean by following detailed guidelines and meeting quality standards
- Monitoring inventory of supplies and equipment
- Verifying that equipment is in good working order
- Timely communication with staff regarding all studio related needs and issues
Work Schedule:
Work hours vary, depending on the culinary class schedule and private party bookings. Classes are typically held during weeknights from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 12:00 – 6:00 pm. Private parties may be held at any time during the day or evening hours, 7 days a week.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office and classroom kitchen environment. This role routinely uses kitchen related equipment. There is moderate noise in this working environment.
Physical Demands:
- Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves food and kitchen related equipment. Ability to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis.
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to twist and turn wrists.
- Requires clear vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
