Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support. Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient examinations, performing basic medical procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Duties:
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, reviewing current medications, and verifying purpose of visit
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by healthcare professionals
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies
- Prepare patient charts prior to scheduled visits, including printing lab results, imaging reports, PFT reports, vaccine records, last previous visit, recent hospital records, surgical reports, etc.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
- Provide patient education on medication usage, nutrition, and general wellness
- Assist with medical coding and billing processes
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant
- Proficiency in basic life support techniques
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of patient care principles and practices
- Proficiency in medication administration techniques
- Ability to perform basic laboratory tests accurately
- Familiarity with medical coding procedures and documentation requirements
- Excellent customer service skills to provide exceptional patient service
