Lyman Automotive, located in Midlothian, VA is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Service Writer to join our team. As a Service Writer, you will be responsible for communicating between the mechanics and the customers. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and experience working as a mechanic or a service writer previously.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assess their service needs, providing clear explanations of repairs or maintenance required.
- Schedule and manage service appointments, coordinating with technicians to optimize shop workflow.
- Recommend additional services or products.
- Track service progress and communicate updates to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of service orders, parts, and warranties for each vehicle.
- Process invoices and ensure correct billing for services.
- Provide customers with accurate service estimates, including labor, parts, and timeframes.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in automotive service writing or as a mechanic is required.
- Knowledge of vehicle systems.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills to handle service orders and inventory.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
