Job Summary: The Contact Center Specialist Level 1 will provide excellent customer service while responding to inbound calls from borrowers and financial institutions as well as perform outbound calls to insurance companies and agencies to verify insurance information. Job Responsibilities: Professionally and confidentially respond to incoming calls from borrowers and financial institutions regarding the insurance status of loans Quickly analyze account history and provide accurate information to assist in resolving the customer issue, applying resources to ensure first call resolution Perform insurance verification via outbound phone calls and internet Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all customer interactions in a proprietary system Meet individual and team performance standards Manage multiple priorities and demonstrate strong decision making skills Maintain courtesy and professionalism on all calls in order to provide a positive customer experience Attendance and dependability: The employee will be depended on to report to work at the schedule time and is seldom absent from work. Employee can be depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Courteous with strong customer service orientation Active listening skills Strong attention to detail Professional verbal and written skills Solve routine problems using existing procedures Effectively follow company guidance and direction Maintain professionalism with all contacts, both internal and external Intermediate computer knowledge and familiarity with navigating the internet Ability to key a minimum of 8,000 alpha-numeric keystrokes per hour Education/Experience: High School Graduate or equivalent required Minimum of one year of customer service experience preferred Prior experience with automobile insurance or collateral protection insurance is a plus This role requires the individual to be on-site all business days (Monday-Friday) Shift: 12:00 pm - 9:00pm. Please note: Markel has a phased approach for re-entry into our buildings that is designed to balance the ongoing health, safety, and well-being of our employees with operational considerations and regulatory/ governmental requirements and recommendations. Effective 10/1/21 we have implemented a hybrid return to work strategy that allows for three days in the office every week. The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors.
