Job Overview: Business Insights Analyst

As a Business Insights Analyst, you will play a critical role in transforming complex data into actionable insights to drive business strategies for our clients, merchants, and internal teams. Your primary focus will be on interpreting POS, syndicated, and panel data to identify trends, assess category performance, and deliver strategic recommendations. You will be responsible for analyzing sales, distribution, pricing, and competition data, providing clear insights that will inform decisions and improve market performance. This is a highly collaborative role that involves working closely with the Insights team and external stakeholders to drive results.

Core Responsibilities

  • Insight Generation & Data Interpretation: Analyze POS, syndicated, and panel data to uncover key trends and provide in-depth analysis, offering strategic recommendations that drive category growth, improve sales performance, and optimize distribution/space allocation.
  • Category Performance & Trend Analysis: Conduct regular category assessments, sales recaps, and trend analysis to provide timely insights. Prepare presentations for internal meetings and client updates that highlight key findings and actionable recommendations.
  • Merchandising, Pricing, & Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor and analyze changes in distribution, merchandising strategies, pricing models, and competitor activities to stay ahead of market shifts and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Data Tools Expertise: Become proficient in syndicated and panel data platforms (e.g., NIQ, Numerator, Mintel, Placer.ai), and serve as an internal expert on these tools. Extract, interpret, and present complex data to make it accessible and actionable for various stakeholders.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Insights Directors, Managers, and cross-functional teams to align on business objectives, communicate insights, and contribute to overall market performance strategies.
  • Problem Solving & Solution-Oriented Approach: Demonstrate a solutions-driven mindset by identifying challenges and proposing contingency plans to keep projects on track and drive continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex data and transform it into actionable insights. Experience with sales trends, segmentation, distribution, and space analysis is a plus.
  • Excellent Communication: Skilled at delivering clear, concise, and impactful insights both verbally and in writing. Ability to present complex information to various stakeholders in an easy-to-understand format.
  • Project Management Expertise: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint. Quick to learn and adapt to new data tools (NIQ, Numerator, Mintel, Placer.ai).
  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: Creative and solutions-oriented, with a positive attitude when facing challenges or roadblocks.
