Forklift Operator/Reach Truck

OVERVIEW

Available shift is: 9AM to 5:30PM, must be flexible to work overtime as needed

This role is payrolled through a staffing agency

The Forklift Operator is an essential part of our team. This role’s primary responsibility will be to accurately transfer product, both physically and logically, into and/or out of warehouse locations, load/unload trailers, move product throughout the facility with powered industrial equipment and perform inventory counts as required. The associate will be trained in a variety of processes within the operation and will be trained to perform several activities including but not limited to replenishment of unit and case inventory, picking orders via a RF device, and conducting accurate cycle counts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working independently to load, unload, move, stock, stage, and transport product to various locations within the warehouse in an accurate, productive, safe, and professional manner.
• Efficiently pick customer orders or shipments with a RF handheld device to ensure that the correct number of units and type of product is picked and prepped appropriately for shipment within a highly automated pick/pack environment.
• Safely driving machinery around the warehouse.
• Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.
• Assisting in the loading and unloading of trucks when necessary.
• Work in a team environment.
• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify number of pallets picked as well as stage location.
• Be aware of and follow all Safety and Security policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, neat, orderly, and safe work area at all times.
• Complete daily inspection of equipment.
• Other duties as assigned as necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• At least 2 years of experience as a Forklift Operator (Reach Truck/Stand up) and using warehouse machinery.
• Must be able to work in a dynamic team environment and be detailed oriented with strong organization skills and a safety-first mindset.
• Ability to read and apply written instructions.
• Representing Market Speed by having great attendance
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to learn quickly and a willingness to ask appropriate questions as needed.
• Must be able to stand, lift and walk throughout entire shift.
• Willingness to be cross trained in multiple departments.
• Experience with RF scanner
• Lift up to 50 pounds frequently is required.
• Previous work experience in a warehouse and 3PL environment
• Strong work ethic and flexibility to work OT determined by the need of the department including potential weekends, early mornings and evenings.
• Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• The ability to create and maintain positive relationships with both management and peers.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Some computer skills with inventory management systems/software is a plus
• Background working with Health and Beauty products is preferred

OTHER INFORMATION

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday during regular business hours. This position may require long hours and some weekend work as necessary to meet the business obligations.

This role also requires the ability to lift items, bend, or stand as necessary.

The environmental characteristic for this position is a warehouse/manufacturing setting. Candidates should be able to life and carry up to 50 lbs. and comply with OSHA standards.
