What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Fulfillment Associate position at Market Speed Logistics?
OVERVIEW
**9AM to 5:30PM Shift**
The Order Fulfillment Scanner is a cross-functional position trained in multiple areas of the operation, including order processing, order fulfillment and order packaging. This role’s primary responsibility will be the safe, secure, and accurate fulfillment of both ecommerce and retail orders. The associate will also be cross-trained in a variety of processes within the order fulfillment operation and will be trained to perform a number of activities including picking orders via a RF device or manual pick sheet and packing and prepping customer parcels for shipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Efficiently pick customer orders or shipments with a RF handheld device to ensure that the correct number of units and type of product is picked and prepped appropriately for shipment within a fast-paced pick/pack environment.
- Scan items into the system and print shipping labels
- Package product into bags, boxes, or totes per customer specifications.
- Read and disseminate information on the product specifications and packaging requirements.
- Quality Control and Inventory Control by verifying proper item is in the original packaging in preparation for scanning including checking batch codes
- Assist in physical inventories and manage the accurate counting and reconciliation of customer unit and case inventory
- Maintain a clean, neat, orderly, and safe work area at all times.
- Other General Warehouse duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Data entry skills, experience and knowledge of using a computer and keyboarding is required.
- Ability to read and apply written instructions from a manual, memos or short correspondence.
- Ability to learn quickly and a willingness to ask appropriate questions as needed.
- Ability to be cross trained in multiple departments
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and experience with RF scanner
- Lifting up to 45 pounds frequently is required
- Previous work experience in a 3PL environment
- Strong work ethic and flexibility to work OT as needed
- Strong organization skills and multi-tasking capabilities
- Ability to maintain an upbeat and positive attitude at all times
- Exceptional verbal and written communication. Able to read/write in English
- The ability to create and maintain positive relationships with both external customers and internal departments
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday during regular business hours. This position may require long hours and some weekend work as necessary to meet the business obligations.
This role also requires the ability to lift items, bend, or stand as necessary. The environmental characteristic for this position is a warehouse/manufacturing setting. Candidates should be able to life and carry up to 50 lbs. and comply with OSHA standards.
