What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Estimator position at Market Tree Research?
Specific Duties:
- Proactive Bid Administration
- Review all available bid boards and other programs for bid opportunities
- Solicits and maintains communications with subcontractors and vendors
- Shows creativity and resourcefulness to gain better pricing/product selection from vendors
- Submits bids and budgets by the bid deadline 100% of the time
- Enters all relevant information into our CRM system
- Estimating and Project Knowledge
- Estimate costs for all qualified bid opportunities
- Track and maintain current versions of plans, specs and addendums
- Review bid requirements thoroughly and asks follow-up questions when necessary
- Has a thorough understanding of our scope of work
- Applies value-engineering ideas when possible
- Enters all relevant information to estimating software
- Hand off to Project Management
- Properly turns over bid documents and other info to Project Managers in a timely manner called the Huddle.
- Review drawings with Project Management team and highlight areas of concern.
- Review estimated costs with Project Management team and highlight any subs/material vendors for cost saving opportunities
