Job Summary:
The Commercial Construction Scheduler is responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating project schedules for our commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with company objectives. This role requires advanced organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate and mitigate potential delays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and manage comprehensive construction schedules using industry-standard scheduling tools.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to gather project requirements and progress updates.
- Analyze schedules to identify potential risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate schedule changes and impacts to all stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with contractual deadlines and milestones.
- Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in scope or unforeseen delays.
- Prepare detailed reports, including Gantt charts, resource allocation summaries, and schedule forecasts.
- Provide recommendations to mitigate delays and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Attend project meetings to present schedule updates and maintain alignment across teams.
- Stay updated on construction industry trends and best practices in project scheduling.
- Additional responsibilities given by the General Manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 years of experience in construction scheduling, preferably in commercial construction.
- Proficiency is Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in scheduling software.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction blueprints and documents.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Knowledge of construction contracts and industry standards is a plus.
