Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and driven Estimator to join our Creative Plastics division. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in determining accurate costs, managing client expectations, and ensuring the financial viability of our projects. Working closely with our design, production, and sales teams, you will use your knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends to develop precise estimates that align with client requirements and industry standards. This role is essential in helping our health and beauty clients bring their brands to life through captivating in-store displays.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Accurately calculate costs for custom plastic displays, fixtures, and retail solutions by assessing material requirements, labor, equipment, packaging, and production time.
- Evaluate alternative manufacturing methods, material options and vendors for the items being estimated
- Collaborate with clients to understand project scope, deliverables, and unique requirements, helping to align expectations with project costs and timelines.
- Work closely with our design, production, and sales teams to assess feasibility, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support efficient project delivery.
- Research and source materials that meet client specifications, industry standards, and budgetary constraints, with an emphasis on sustainability and quality.
- Ensure estimates align with quality standards and that costs accurately reflect the scope of work, reducing the potential for overages and project delays.
- Identify potential cost risks and address these with both internal teams and clients, providing transparency and proactive solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our estimating process, leveraging industry insights to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be able to read engineering drawings for displays.
- Ability to understand design prints.
- Experienced high-level user of MS Excel.
- Strong mechanical, analytical and math skills.
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to work in a variety of roles.
- Strong project management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to utilize the tact and diplomacy required to foster a team environment while keeping projects on schedule and budget.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Supervision Received:
Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to supervisor.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 3 years in estimating, costing, or project management within the retail fixtures, plastic displays, or related industries, preferably within health and beauty retail.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is usually less than 20 lbs.
- Push/Pull: Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 20 lbs.
- Reaching: Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 20 lbs.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 20 lbs.
- Standing: Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. In frequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
