Job Summary: Creative Plastics is seeking a skilled Injection Molding Processor to join our team in Dalton, GA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the injection molding process, with a focus on setup, troubleshooting, tooling, quality inspection, and leadership. This role is vital to ensuring the consistent production of high-quality plastic parts while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist Supervisor with machine efficiency, productivity, and other daily tasks.
- Lead a team of people in the execution of daily production tasks, work scheduling, training, maintenance, and continuous improvement within the department
- Support process improvements, inventory reduction, and overall operating efficiencies within the area
- Minimize scrap, reduce down time and optimize cycle time, including programming and set-up parameters of injection machines
- Assist with preparation for start of work to ensure machines are ready
- Work alongside associates, provide oversight and guidance; prioritize work as necessary
- Respond to problems by performing corrective technical solutions and troubleshooting through processing ability
- Participates or leads in troubleshooting and problem-solving projects on any production related problems. (I.E., machine breakdown, scheduling problem, etc.)
- Recommends modifications to existing methods or procedures
- Train entry level Process Injection Technicians and manufacturing associates, evaluate training program and adjust as needed to ensure their development.
- Ensure safety standards are maintained in the plastic injection area.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, specifications, and/or codes
- Communicate safety policies to associates and ensure that all associates are following company safety standards
- Notify Production Supervisor of any unsafe conditions or associates not performing work safely or productively
- Ensure Molds are set up to meet production demand.
- Assist with the development of new products
- Perform product sampling and determine optimal machine setups for new products
- Provide input and documentation to assist with product development
- Ensure work area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
- Ensure scrap bins are emptied as needed
- Ensure staging area is clean and organized at all times
- Maintain Company quality standards in all work area activities.
- Troubleshoot and adjust molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output
- Observe quality of all production leaving the work area
- Assist and/or lead quality checks and inspections
- Notify Supervisor of quality issues and assist with correction of production quality as necessary
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with data entry computer skills is preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
- Ability to work in a variety of roles.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to utilize the tact and diplomacy required to foster a team environment while keeping projects on schedule and budget.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Supervision Received:
Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to supervisor.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of ‘hands-on’ injection molding processing and setting tools/molds experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Push/Pull: Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Reaching: Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
- Standing: Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
- Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. In frequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
