Job Overview
Functional Job Description:
The primary duty of the Community Outreach Coordinator is to develop and manage relationships and communication with churches, community organizations, and volunteers, as well as provide collaborative support to Marland’s Place programs. This position also plays a critical role in supporting social media, marketing, public relations, and fundraising efforts.
Qualifications:
The Community Outreach Coordinator must meet the following qualifications:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a minimum of an Associate's degree or 2 years of experience.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
- Successfully pass pre-employment screenings.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and nurture community relationships through planned, face-to-face interactions regularly.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with organizations, churches, and other community groups.
- Manage and create social media content to engage with the community and raise awareness about Marland's Place.
- Actively collaborate with the Foster Care team to support foster parent recruitment initiatives.
- Schedule and conduct speaking engagements to raise awareness about Marland’s Place.
- Collect and compile usage data from the clothing closet, visitation room, and other facilities for newsletters and grant preparation.
- Actively participate in and assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of annual events.
- Attend monthly community events as a representative of Marland’s Place.
Development and Marketing Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Development in cultivating donors to support Marland’s Place operations.
- Provide support in preparing and submitting grant applications, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Maintain the donor database to ensure accuracy and up-to-date information.
- Assist in preparing and distributing communications to current and prospective donors, including newsletters, fund drives, event updates, and promotional materials.
- Write and edit letters, bulk mailings, and other correspondence to support development efforts.
- Manage social media accounts and content creation, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
- Maintain and engage with Facebook groups and other online communities.
- Create email campaigns to promote events, fundraising efforts, and organizational updates.
- Coordinate with churches and organizations to schedule speaking engagements.
- Provide public speaking support for events, presentations, and community engagements.
Event Support:
- Collaborate with the Development team and subcommittees to plan and execute annual events.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for fundraising and community engagement events.
- Assist in event promotions and outreach.
Administrative Support:
- Provide general assistance to the Director of Development as needed.
- Assist with grant-writing activities by gathering data, drafting content, and organizing necessary documentation to support successful submissions.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Represent Marland’s Place at community and organizational events.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic graphic design.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences through public speaking.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38,500.00 per year
