We have counselor openings for Summer 2025 at the Day Camp at the Marlene Meyerson Jewish Community Center of Manhattan (the Day Camp @ the JCC) for young children. Our day camp Counselors provide leadership guidance and supervision for a group of campers, ensuring a quality experience for children and parents. Our counselors serve as role models and good examples, team players, and are respectful and caring individuals who create positive, nurturing relationships with children. Our Day Camp Counselors are enthusiastic, organized, a leader, and upbeat. Camp runs in from late June through mid-August, with training dates in mid-late June.

Salary Range: $1,800-$3,400 for the summer depending on age and experience

- Serve as a role model for campers and staff. Establish and monitor a positive group environment and help campers maintain a positive attitude throughout the camp day
- Ensure campers' daily health and wellness, specifically hydration and regular bathroom visits, maintain bunk backpacks with all necessary supplies. Participate in all activities
- Help generate ideas for bunk activities. Prepare for and participate in all bunk activities
- Communicate with specialists/instructors as to how you can best support them
- Help to mediate conflicts between campers. Communicate issues between campers or between staff to the unit head. Assist your team in preparing for activities and written work.
