The EMT for the Day Camp at the Marlene Meyerson JCC of Manhattan ("the JCC") will work weekday mornings over the summer from 9 a.m. -12 p.m. accompanying our 5-year-old campers to the park every day and will be responsible for the overall health and well-being of those campers and counselors. This care includes tending to injured or ill campers or staff, ensuring everyone stays hydrated, communicating with camp staff, and managing medication and first-aid kids. camper injuries into our database
Responsibilities include:
Ensuring the health and well-being of campers and counselors outside of and within the park; assisting with illness and injury management; Providing first aid for cuts, scrapes, bruises, insect stings, dehydration, sunburn, etc.; and responding to medical emergencies as required.
Making sure inventory of supplies and first-aid kits are maintained and fully stocked; storing and managing all prescription and over-the-counter medications when necessary
Maintaining a daily log of camper's visits in an online system
Communicating with staff about campers' illnesses or injuries as needed

Job Overview:
Day Camp @ The JCC's EMT works mornings over the summer from 9 am-12 pm. Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health and well-being of campers and counselors within and outside the park
- Assist with illness and injury management

Provide first aid for cuts, scrapes, bruises, insect stings, dehydration, sunburn and more
as needed - Ensure inventory of supplies and first-aid kits are maintained and fully stocked
- Maintain a daily log of camper's visits in our online system
- Store and manage all prescription and over-the-counter medications when necessary
- Communicate with staff about campers' illness or injury as needed
- Respond to medical emergencies, make decisions and take initiative under pressure and time-sensitive conditions.
Qualifications
- Current EMT certification
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Experience working with children and youth
- 21 years of age
- Ability to maintain and administer medications
- Excellent communication skills
