Job Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and grounds by performing the following duties.
Duties/Responsibilities: Directs workers engaged in painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, utilities and furnishings of buildings. Directs workers engaged in ground maintenance activities, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, raking and disposing of leaves and refuse. Directs workers assisting other departments as requested, including moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies. Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintains time and production records. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Performs activities of workers supervised.
Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Education and Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in either plumbing, electrical, or mechanical. Employment Type Full Time
