Test Engineering Lab Supervisor

This is an Engineering Supervisor role with heavy emphasis on project management for projects focusing on lab, design, process, and quality systems projects. We are responsible for plant equipment and processes used in the manufacturing of chemicals and products such as petrochemicals, detergents, cement, and paper etc. We manage and lead a team of chemical engineers.

• Manage and direct Associate Test Engineers
• Test request/report system(s) management
• DVPR tracking and support
• PCIP tracking and support
• Quality request/report system(s) management
• Track and schedule a calibration schedule for lab equipment
• Manage many projects at once (builds, high importance experiments, etc.)
• SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) updating, development, and improvement
• Data management and analysis (script and non-script based)
• Report results in concise written forms (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
• Act as a subject matter expert across multiple platforms in Engineering
• Ensure a high level of communication with the Test & Sustaining Quality Manager, Test & Sustaining Quality Test Engineers, Associate Test Engineers, and stakeholders
• Critical, independent thinking around product requirements and validation

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field - chemical or mechanical

• Project management experience
• 5 years of experience in product testing and test lab operations
• Experience in product development
• Knowledge of when to escalate problems or issues; able to communicate results effectively
• Able to inspire others and share passion for our vision, culture, and opportunity
• Demonstrates strategic thinking, operational intelligence, and sound judgment
• Data-driven with a balance between data and intuition; strong documentation skills
• Collaborative and able to build partnerships and ensure shared success
• Proficiency in the following or similar software applications: PLC Logic(s), MatLab, Python, R, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

• Self-starter capable of managing many projects at once (project management)
• Understanding of data acquisition (DAQ) technology and methods
• Ability to use and code in MatLab or MatLab-equivalent software for complex, customized data analysis (script generation in MatLab, Python, R, or equivalent) with emphasis on R&R statistics
• Experience in a test lab environment (data collection, analysis, reports)
• Knowledge of water chemistry and water treatment
• Understanding of DFMEA/PFMEA, DVPR/PCP, R&R statistics driven experimentation
