Title: Supervisor of Accounting
Classification: MNAA
Reports to: Assistant Business Administrator
Primary Function: Supervision of the accounting functions including, but not limited to, payroll, reconciliation of all district accounts, reconciliation of taxes, maintaining all financial schedules, and asset management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises accounts receivable and accounts payable functions;
- Supervises and performs the reconciliation of all accounts including, but not limited to, payables, receivables and student activity in accordance with required accounting requirements and practices;
- Supervises and evaluates assigned staff;
- Reviews biweekly payroll and ensures payroll is compliant with the appropriate agencies
- Reviews quarterly and annual tax filings
- Prepares audit schedules in accordance with required procedures and practices;
- Prepares all required district, local, state and federal reports
- Responsible for the reconciliation of taxes;
- Responsible for asset management and prepares required reports
- Maintenance of electronic, accounting, purchasing and operational reports, files and data;
- Assists with planning and compilation of annual budget and;
- Attendance in the office to interact with the Business Office and District staff.
- Performs other essential functions as assigned.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Performs other reasonably related duties in equal or lower classifications as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:. B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field is required. Related experiences in the public or private sector with PA public school district experience preferred. A CPA or PRSBO certification preferred. Possess the ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Work Environment:
- Employee works primarily in a climate controlled environment except when traveling to other buildings, meetings, training locations and other areas.
- Frequent sitting and walking,
- Lifting and carrying up to 15 lbs.
- Occasional pushing/pulling, stooping, kneeling, using stairs, bending, reaching and twisting.
