General Description:

The R&D Materials Laboratory Specialist will be responsible for incoming

raw materials and finished products, sampling and testing of materials,

batch release, internal calibrations, and submission of 3rd party testing.

Responsibilities:

• Perform receipt inspection and release of Raw materials and Finished Products
• Testing Raw Materials, Finished Products, and Customer Complaints per specification
• Maintaining retain and standards samples
• Identify and quarantine non-conforming materials
• Perform internal calibration in Lab
• Submit samples for testing for Raw Materials, Bulks, and Finished Products
• Responsible for following cGMPs and safety policies and procedures
• Responsible for following approved test methods and SOP’s
• Perform other lab duties and projects as needed
• Work as a team with other departments
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

• 4-year related Degree preferred
• 1-2 years previous experience in a quality/lab role in manufacturing or production environment
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Skills & Knowledge:

• Ability to read product specifications
• Knowledge of cosmetics/beauty industry highly preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good team player
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of cGMP is mandatory
• Must work well independently, under minimal supervision
• Must perform well under pressure and deadlines

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods of time
