The Apartment Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall condition of the apartment community’s grounds, common areas, and amenities. This position plays a key role in ensuring that the property is well-maintained and provides a welcoming environment for residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Grounds and Common Area Maintenance:
- Maintain the cleanliness of the grounds, sidewalks, parking areas, and building exteriors by regularly sweeping, blowing, and removing trash and debris.
- Monitor and empty trash receptacles throughout the property and dispose of waste properly.
- Ensure that all common areas, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, fitness centers, and clubhouse areas, are clean and orderly.
- Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or property damage to the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager.
2. Pool and Amenity Upkeep:
- Clean and maintain pool areas, ensuring compliance with safety and health standards.
- Remove debris and ensure furniture and equipment are clean and properly arranged.
3. Assist Maintenance Team:
- Assist maintenance staff with basic tasks such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and painting when needed.
- Deliver notices and communications to residents as directed by management.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in property maintenance, janitorial services, or groundskeeping is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Basic knowledge of groundskeeping tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and walking for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular exposure to outdoor elements and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to operate landscaping and cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening, as required by company policy.
