We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tree Service Foreman to lead a crew in performing tree removal, pruning, trimming, and other arboricultural services. The Foreman will oversee daily operations at job sites, ensure safety compliance, maintain equipment, and deliver high-quality service to clients. - Supervise and coordinate the activities of the tree crew at job sites.
- Conduct site assessments and safety briefings before beginning work.
- Operate and direct the use of chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, aerial lifts, and other tree service equipment.
- Climb trees using rope and saddle or operate aerial lift trucks to perform tree removals or pruning.
- Ensure all work is performed according to industry safety standards and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients, crew members, and management regarding job details and progress.
- Train crew members in proper techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Inspect and maintain tools, trucks, and equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning.
- Document work completed and report any incidents, hazards, or equipment issues.
- Handle emergency tree work including storm damage cleanups, often outside of regular hours.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in tree care, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of tree species, tree health, pruning techniques, and safe removal practices.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, job maps, and blueprints.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in all weather conditions and at heights.
- Valid driver's license (CDL A preferred).
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Additional certifications such as ISA Certified Arborist are a plus.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Use of heavy machinery, sharp tools, and climbing gear.
- Potential for extended hours during emergencies (e.g., storm response).
