What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Acquisition and Development Specialist position at Marrano?
As a Land Acquisition and Development Specialist at Marrano Marc-Equity Corporation, you will be responsible for identifying and assisting with the purchase of land for future residential Marrano home building sites. Additionally, you will manage and coordinate all aspects of land development projects.
Reporting to our Executive Vice President of Land and Development, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Search for new land/lot acquisition opportunities in the Buffalo and Rochester market areas
- Take the lead role in the negotiation of purchase deals
- Prepare offers and purchase contracts for land and lots as required
- Complete land acquisition feasibility investigations
- Manage and coordinate with different departments on all aspects of land development projects including budgeting, obtaining bids, and field oversight
- Coordinate planning and design of projects as required
- Obtain inspection reports such as: Phase 1 Environmental, Wetlands Delineation, Soil Borings, Environmental testing, etc. as required
- Understand and oversee approvals as required
- Assisting in the preparation of the annual strategic land-management/acquisition game plans
- Manage and coordinate utilities servicing the development projects
- Act as a liaison with other departments and customers
- Prepare and maintain lot “add-on” budgets
- Walk and inspect sites being considered for acquisition
- Coordinate with civil engineers completing site designs
You are someone who has:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience in a related field
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products
- Detail oriented with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks with different deadlines
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to provide exceptional quality service to external and internal customers
