We are seeking A hotel banquet houseman supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing the setup, execution, and breakdown of banquet events within a hotel, managing a team of banquet housepersons to ensure all functions run smoothly, maintaining cleanliness standards in event spaces, and delivering exceptional guest service by coordinating equipment, supplies, and staff according to event specifications.
Basic Job Function:
Coordinate and inspect the set-up and breakdown of all Banquet, Catering, and Meeting facilities. Provide overall direction and leadership within the Banquet Set-up department and promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality while upholding and ensuring compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Staff Supervision:
- Train and manage a team of banquet housepersons, assigning tasks and ensuring proper execution of event setups and breakdowns.
- Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and address any issues related to service standards.
- Schedule staff according to event requirements and peak hours.
- Event Management:
- Collaborate with the banquet manager to interpret event orders, including room layout, table arrangements, and equipment needs.
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of banquet spaces, including furniture placement, linens, and decorative elements.
- Ensure timely delivery and proper placement of food and beverage items as per event specifications.
- Quality Control:
- Regularly inspect event spaces to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Monitor the quality of service provided by banquet staff during events, addressing any guest concerns promptly.
- Inspect equipment and supplies to ensure proper functionality and adequate inventory.
- Logistics and Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, banquet servers, and other departments to ensure smooth event flow.
- Manage event logistics, including coordinating deliveries, equipment setup, and room changes.
- Monitor event timelines and adjust as needed to maintain schedule adherence.
- Guest Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service to event attendees, addressing any requests or concerns promptly.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude throughout interactions with guests.
