Position Overview:
The Construction Manager oversees solar installations on new home construction, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion. Leads Foremen and installation teams, coordinates with builders, manages active construction at multiple job sites, and resolves issues to prevent delays. Enforces safety standards, optimizes efficiency, and collaborates across teams for seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees all aspects of solar system installation on new home construction projects, ensuring projects are completed on time and in compliance with quality standards.
- Leads multiple Foremen and their teams of installers.
- Coordinates and collaborates with home builders, site superintendents, and project managers to integrate solar installations into new home construction schedules.
- Simultaneously manages multiple job site projects, scheduling, planning, and construction
- logistics.
- Conducts site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, local building codes, and industry standards.
- Monitors project progress and resolves any issues that arise during construction to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Develops and implements construction best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Ensures adherence to OSHA and company safety policies including conducting training and enforcing safe work practices on job sites.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments to ensure seamless project execution.
- Promptly and thoroughly reviews all requested health and safety training provided, asking questions for any topic not clearly understood.
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- 5 year(s) experience in construction management, preferably in the solar or residential construction industry.
- NABCEP certification is a plus.
Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical codes, and construction best practices strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (Procore, NetSuite, or similar).
