Job Description:

Chief Data Office (CDO) is a Mars Snacking program that harnesses the power of data and insights to solve some of the critical business-wide problems we face – unlocking quality growth and operational excellence.

What are we looking for?

• 7 years of experience working in a quantitative role preferably in the CPG, or retail industry.
• 4 years of experience managing a team of data scientists, product analysts or data analysts
• Proven track record of delivering AI/ Data Science products in a fast-paced, agile environment using a scalable and reusable codebase and models to address business problems effectively.
• Partner with business leadership across functions to identify business challenges and opportunities and translate them unto actionable, integrated, data-driven solutions.
• Eagerness to learn, flexibility to pivot when needed, savviness to navigate and thrive in a dynamic environment, and a growth mindset needed to build a successful team
• A strong understanding of product building methodology and frameworks.
• An understanding of product management principles such as product definition, roadmap building and management, and product releases and commercialization
• A strong customer centric mindset especially within an internal customer base with the purpose of driving value creation, adoption and use
• Strategic thinking, problem solving and innovation, with the ability to anticipate and navigate challenges and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with analytics standards, including tailoring methodologies to specific use case needs such as ML, AI, and descriptive analytics.
• Ability to embed business facing and technical facing products across a spectrum of stakeholders, both technical and business.
• Proficiency in change management and communication across different levels of seniority.
• Working understanding of ML Ops and DevOps frameworks
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure tech stack, including but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, GCP and Vertex Ecosystem
  
  

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Mars Principles: Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Strategy and Thought Leadership: Work with PN Digital Leadership to create and execute the data foundations strategy and roadmap for the Pet Nutrition segment, in alignment with the Pet Nutrition’s business strategic priorities, goals and analytics needs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with PN D&A leadership, PN product owners, and segment D&A leadership to synchronize and formulate data priorities aimed at maximizing value through data utilization.
• Team and resource management: Hire, build, lead and manage multilocational teams covering data platforms, architecture, engineering, and governance throughout the development lifecycle, from ideation to ongoing optimization. Manage budget allocation.
• Data Governance and compliance: Oversee data governance policies, ethics, privacy regulations, and the implementation of best practices.
• Data and AI as a Product: Bring technical mastery, knowledge, and acumen to lead the creation and deployment of scalable, secure data platforms and data assets tailored to our organization's evolving requirements while ensuring data quality and trust.
• Performance Monitoring: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement monitoring systems for deployed data platforms and products to ensure efficient operations data operations, effective support services and incident management.
• Solution ideation and Development: Guide a team of data scientists to create fit for purpose solutions using cutting edge analytical and AI methodologies.
• Technical Product Management: Create, own and deliver for AI products that are both business as well as Tech facing.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
