Position Summary: Reporting to the VP Finance, this role will work closely with the accounting team to oversee and manage the daily activities of the accounting department.

- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness of the close process and production of accurate financial reports.
- Lead day-to-day accounting functions (GL account reconciliations, accounts payables, posting of journal entries, disbursements) and provide support to Accounting Team.
- Ensures that all AR and AP are recorded daily and monthly.
- Supervise Accounting Specialists
- Coordinates with other program leaders to provide pricing support and/or recommendations.
- Once the payroll process is complete, approve payroll and ensure funds are available for funding on payroll date.
- Addresses all billing and invoicing and suppliers’ payment matters accordingly.
• Prepares and/or approve all ACH vendor payments timely. • Participate in and may lead in the creation and updating any accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure all vendors and contractors have provided ACH and W9 documents.
- Manage AP vendor relationships.
- Provide year-end audit support required by external auditors including working papers, supporting information and responding to queries.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures to enhance workflow efficiency and effectiveness.
- Perform ad hoc analyses and projects as required.

- Experience using Sage Intacct accounting Software preferred.
- Experience with Financial Reporting.
- Experience with audits.
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of current GAAP and restricted fund accounting including a strong understanding of inter-fund/unit accounting.
- Familiarity with charitable sector statutory requirement.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.

Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday in office, Friday work from home.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Preferred)
Experience:
- Audit: 3 years (preferred)
- Accounting: 5 years (required)
