The Marshall Health Network HR Generalist supports various HR functions to ensure a smooth and compliant work environment. This role includes assisting with employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, policy maintenance, high-level benefits support, and contributing to HR programs and initiatives. The position works closely with management and staff to address HR-related issues in a timely and service-driven manner.
Marshall Health Network System Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine tasks necessary to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to disciplinary actions, disputes and investigations, employee recognition, and training and development.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in maintaining MHN HR policies and respond to policy-related questions
- Manage job descriptions for MHN employees, ensuring they are accessible in an online database.
- Process onboarding paperwork, I-9 documentation, license or certification verification, and background checks for new hires.
- Schedule new hire pre-employment physicals and orientations.
- Serve as a customer-focused point of contact for new hires throughout the onboarding process and during their employment.
- Conduct exit interviews for MHN employees leaving the organization.
- Collaborate with the human resources team to address employee and manager inquiries regarding employment, benefits, and other HR-related matters.
- Administer the Aspire Tuition Assistance program for both employees and non-employees for hard to fill roles such as RN, LPN, Radiology, Respiratory, MLT, Surgical Tech, and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. This includes fielding numerous calls and emails from interested parties, coordinating with school financial aid offices to set up invoicing and payment arrangements, determining tuition amounts and contract lengths based on financial need, creating and executing employment agreements, processing reimbursements, and tracking payments.
- Track and review the employment status of individuals under employment agreements.
- Monitor and attempt to recover paid funds from individuals who breach their contract.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Reporting structure: This position will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer for MHN
Requirements:Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. SHRM-CP or HRCI PHR certification is preferred.
Experience: At least one year of human resource experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
