Job Responsibilities:
Experience: Three to five years of experience in healthcare administration, nursing, or related clinical experience preferred.

- Oversees the day-to-day administrative and business functions, as well as the academic portion of the department.
- Coordinates with the department’s leadership team including VP of orthopaedic services, department chair, other faculty members, supervisors and staff to ensure the goals/objectives of the department are met.
- Directs the selection, training, and supervision of departmental personnel.
- Performs staff evaluations and disciplinary actions in consultation with HR, director of orthopaedic services, and/or COO.
- Assists with analysis of data as required to continually assess both the financial and operational performance of the department and works to improve efficiency and quality in delivering healthcare service.
- Works with VP of orthopaedic services to develop the department’sannual budget and provide financial forecasting.
- Develops and implements departmental policies/procedures.
- Oversees the performance of billing/collections of the department.
- Creates a positive, team-based work environment.
- Communicates effectively with staff, physicians, and other departments within Marshall Health and the School of Medicine and serves as the liaison between department and external institutions/agencies.
- Maintains quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards, conforming to OSHA regulations and other agencies such as TJC.
- Enhances professional growth and development by attending educational workshops/conferences, reviewing professional publications, etc.
- Serves on various committees and performs other duties as assigned.
