POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Pharmacy Director is a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), who assists with providing 24-hour accountability for pharmacy services, resource and fiscal management of the Pharmacy Department. This position has independent authority to make decisions for the department which include, but are not limited to, staffing, disciplinary actions, resource and financial allocation. This position acts as the Pharmacy Director in his/her absence. This position will rotate into Clinical Pharmacist shifts when shortages occur or on an as needed basis.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm D) required.
- Current State of California Registered Pharmacist License required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Knowledge:
- Minimum of five years pharmacy experience required.
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of Performance Improvement processes required.
- Knowledge of state, federal, Joint Commission (JC), and other regulatory bodies’ standards.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Experiences where leadership, integrity, initiative, clinical skills and effective communication skills have been demonstrated.
- Proven knowledge and ability to use management and supervisory principles and skills.
- Excellent team building and communication skills, required.
