Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Business System Analyst (BSA) to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent analytical skills, and proven expertise in data profiling, SQL coding, data modeling, and documentation for data warehouse projects, with a focus on the healthcare domain.

Responsibilities

• Data Profiling and Issue Identification:
• Conduct thorough data profiling to identify and resolve data issues before integrating into the data warehouse (DW).
• Documentation:
• Prepare Functional Specifications by collaborating with business and technical teams.
• Create Source-to-Target Mapping Documents detailing joins, filters, ranking logic, and unique record identification.
• Develop detailed Functional Requirement Documents (FRD) and Business Requirement Documents (BRD) to guide development and QA teams.
• Data Modeling:
• Present draft versions of the Data Model for review and refinement.
• Ensure comprehensive understanding of RDBMS concepts and implement appropriate solutions.
• SQL Expertise:
• Utilize advanced SQL scripting for data mining, data structures, and data modeling.
• Execute SQL scripts for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and business checkouts.
• Data Warehouse Support:
• Support data warehouse projects, focusing on sourcing and outbound extracts.
• Perform gap analysis and resolve data inconsistencies in the pipeline.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable specifications.
• Coordinate with developers, QA teams, and other technical resources to ensure project success.
  

Requirements

Experience:

• 8 years in a Business Systems Analyst or Technical Analyst role.
• 5 years of experience in SQL coding with advanced expertise.
• 5 years in data profiling, data mining, and data modeling.
• 3 years in data warehouse projects, preferably in sourcing or outbound extracts.
• Hands-on experience with slowly changing dimensions (Type 1, Type 2, etc.) in recent projects.

• Proficiency in SQL scripting and data analysis.
• Expertise in preparing detailed Source-to-Target Mapping Documents.
• Strong understanding of data profiling, data structures, and data modeling concepts.
• Ability to create Functional Requirement Documents (FRD) and Business Requirement Documents (BRD).
• Experience in gap analysis and aligning technical specifications with business needs.
• Solid understanding of healthcare domain data and workflows.
