Job Description
Clinical Assistant Professor - 9 month position
The Counseling Department invites applications for a Clinical Track position at the Assistant Professor rank. Start date beginning as early as January 2, 2025.
Position Description : Teaching an assigned load of synchronous and asynchronous graduate level courses using Blackboard Ultra LMS, Microsoft Teams, and other relevant instructional technologies; providing engaged advising to a group of students commensurate with other duties; maintaining consistent accessibility for advisees, students, faculty, and colleagues; participating in department, professional, and community service; providing leadership of a designated course(s) and supervision of a teaching team of instructors; supporting ongoing accreditation and continuous improvement of Counseling Department; ensuring administrative and communication processes of the Department, College, and University are implemented quickly and efficiently; maintaining university graduate faculty status and maintaining CACREP core faculty status; being able to travel to campus (South Charleston or Huntington) as requested.
Technology Requirements :
Faculty members must have adequate computer technology and internet access to facilitate online learning experiences that include live video meetings.
The Faculty Member must be able to use Microsoft Office products (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint), zip software, and Adobe Acrobat and must have reliable Internet access as well as alternate access in cases where primary access becomes unavailable. The use of Blackboard Ultra and Microsoft Teams will be required. Training is available through the University.
Candidates interviewing on campus submit unofficial transcripts (undergraduate and graduate) directly to the chair of the search committee.

Salary Range
Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Required Qualifications
Education
Earned doctoral degree in counseling or a related field from a CACREP-accredited or CACREP-recognized program, or a related doctoral degree with full-time employment as a faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013.
Candidates at the dissertation stage (ABD) must have a definite timeline for completion before the contract starts.
Experience
A record of teaching and supervision excellence in an online educational model that includes both synchronous (e.g., live sessions using Microsoft Teams or Zoom) and asynchronous instructional methods.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
Earned doctoral degree in counseling or a related field from a CACREP-accredited or CACREP-recognized program.
Experience
Telehealth
Trauma-competent clinical practices
Remote counselor education and supervision in a national / international program
Candidates with a strong, ongoing clinical practice
