Position Description:
The Manager, Research Programs Technology plays an instrumental role in the Higher Education IT department. This role is responsible for being the liaison for MU Information Technology (MUIT) and the MU Research Corporation (MURC). This position will be responsible for understanding the business and technology needs of MURC, ensuring the IT solutions align with those needs, and optimizing operations for increased efficiency. The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of both technology and higher education research processes, combined with leadership skills to drive strategic initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead Business Analysis Efforts:
- Oversee the collection, interpretation, and documentation of business requirements from diverse academic and administrative stakeholders, specifically those related to research initiatives or the business processes of MURC.
- Translate requirements into actionable IT projects and initiatives.
- Prioritize and streamline IT requests to align with MURC and MUIT goals and resource availability.
- Identify areas of potential operational improvement within MURC and MUIT
- Implement best practices, process improvements, and technological solutions to increase efficiency.
- Monitor key performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement of operations.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Engage with various institutional stakeholders, specifically those working on behalf of MURC or research initiatives, understanding their unique needs and challenges.
- Build and maintain relationships to ensure IT initiatives are well-received and effectively implemented.
- Communicate MURC and IT plans, projects, and progress regularly to ensure transparency and stakeholder buy-in.
Qualifying Technical Skills:
- Proficient in business analysis tools and software.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and solutions in a higher education context., with experience in higher education research preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years in a technology or business analysis role
Preferred Qualifications
Education
Master’s degree preferred.
