Perform research activities and other tasks as necessary in a biomedical research laboratory environment.
Job Description:
- Perform laboratory research procedures under the direction of the Principal Investigator
- Maintain cell culture and organoid culture in accordance with laboratory and safety protocols
- Culture bacteria for treatment of cells and organoids as per Biosafety protocols
- Work with experimental animal models in terms of animal maintenance, treatments and generation of experimental data
- Perform molecular and cell biology techniques such as Western Blotting, Real Time-Quantitative PCR, gene cloning, immunofluorescence, luciferase assay, ELISA
- Keep a laboratory notebook and perform thorough and accurate recordkeeping of all experimental data
- Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including ordering supplies, preparing buffers and reagents and general lab organization
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the Principal Investigator
- Comply with all safety, environmental and health regulations and procedures
Required Qualifications
Education
- Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences
Experience
- Previous experience with cell culture, animal handling and basic biochemistry and molecular biology techniques is preferred
- Good organizational and communication skills
