We are seeking an Assistant Supervisor to support our Shipping Department at Armstrong Avenue.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and driving productivity of the team
- ensuring orders are shipped timely and accurately
- utilizing MARSHALLTOWN applications to drive efficiencies
- responsible to secure the facility at the end of shift
- Ensuring all safety aspects of the jobs are being followed by employees
- Setting up and operating and performing basic equipment adjustments as required
- Training/Cross-Training both new and existing employees
- Performing quality checks, regularly, ensuring quality standards are met
- Operating powered industrial equipment to move product and materials in an efficient and safe manner
- Accurately entering data into computer systems to track material movements and locations
- Other duties and project work as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred
- Two (2) years with manufacturing experience is preferred
- Must have good oral and written communication skills and good math skills
- Good decision-making and problem-solving skills are a must
- Attention to detail while operating safely is a must
- Must have the ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- Basic administrative computer proficiency, to include email, required
- Must be able to successfully pass the Material Handler Written Exam, FL Certification, Administrative Skills assessment, etc. to help determine fit for role
- Excellent attendance is required
- Meets harness and SRL (Self Retracting Lifeline) weight capacity limits (130 lbs. - 310 lbs.)
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs.
