Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Principal the High School Office Manager performs duties and responsibilities related to the daily operations of the high school. The duties and responsibilities outlined below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the essential duties.
Qualifications:
Prior office manager and bookkeeping work experience preferred. Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check Certificate eligibility required.
Salary will be commensurate with experience: $58,000 - $60,000. Salary to be pro-rated to the start date in the fiscal year (July 1 – June 30).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Displays courtesy, tact, consideration, discretion and confidentiality in all interactions with other members of the office, district community and public.
Ability to communicate clearly and correctly in speech and written communication.
Provides information requiring comprehensive knowledge and ability to interpret school policy, procedures and operations, directing individuals to the correct person and/or department.
Works efficiently and with a service-oriented attitude in stressful situations with constant interruptions.
Serves as a confidential assistant to the principal, assistant principal and other administrative personnel unique to the high school.
Acts as a liaison for school administration, staff, students, parents, other district schools, Central Office personnel and community.
Works with the principal to distribute, organize, delegate and participate in a wide variety of duties related to the running of the school.
Independently composes a variety of materials, such as letters, memorandums, bulletins, requisitions, claims, reports and statistical data from rough drafts, or oral instruction.
Assists high school booster organizations with their financial statements and planning.
Tracks and compiles financial data and budget information for the principal.
Coordinates the process of purchasing to include the processing of requisitions, receipt verifications and distribution of materials.
Is a member of the Crisis Team and receives and disseminates critical disaster information in a calm, and professional manner; provides assistance for command center in a disaster.
Serves as a member of the Leadership Team and any other committees required by the principal.
Performs bookkeeping duties to include maintaining and managing school accounts and funds. Reconciles accounts with bank statements and prepares a variety of reports. Responsible for annual audit of total expenditures and revenues by external auditing team.
Manages electronic timesheets for attendance and leave for all high school personnel.
Responsible for the recording of daily attendance of students and the preparation of enrollment/attendance reports.
Orients and assists substitutes teachers and other substitute personnel.
Prepares requisitions of materials and work orders for maintenance and work orders for maintenance of buildings, grounds and school equipment.
Maintains and coordinates facility usage with athletic director for school events, community events, sports activities, and other community use unique to the high school.
Responsible for the assigning and inventory of building and room keys for both school personnel and community use.
Performs other related duties or tasks as assigned and requested.
