Summer 2025 Investment Data Internship Program

The Opportunity

Martello Re is seeking an Investment Data Intern. We believe in hiring talented interns and giving them an opportunity to make a real impact and gain experience working with a world class team. Reporting directly to an Investment Data Associate, our intern is a valued team member who will be given the opportunity to take part in real-world business processes and gain practical experience. The intern will support a variety of initiatives within portfolio management & strategy, investment operations, and data analytics. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting in the development or enhancement of reporting tools to monitor performance, portfolio allocation, positioning relative to strategic asset allocation, risk limits, earnings budget, and others.
• Supporting the Investment team in maintaining smooth data flows between Martello’s key data sources and verifying data completeness and accuracy
• Communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, including Actuarial, Enterprise Risk Management, Finance, Data Analytics and Asset Managers
• Contributing to the build-out of Martello Re’s in-house data warehouse and analytics platform
• Performing in-depth data analysis and aggregation for use throughout the organization
• Leveraging PowerBI to drive streamlined, real-time reporting to key stakeholders within the organization

Required Skills/Abilities

• Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
• Familiarity with SQL, Python and/or R preferred
• Strong sense of urgency and results-oriented
• High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication & critical thinking skills
• Ability to collaborate with others in support of key initiatives
• Interest in the use and flow of data to support investment decisions
• Interest in extracting meaningful insights from large data sets at scale

Internship Details

• 10-week internship
• 1 long-form internship project that will be presented to the internal team at conclusion
• 2 performance review sessions with direct manager

Education and Experience

Enrollment in a four-year degree program for accounting, finance, economics, data analytics, or related quantitative field.

Location

This is an onsite (5-days a week) internship position in our Charlotte, North Carolina office.
