Are you a retail leader that is tired of long hours, late nights, working holidays, Black Friday?! We are currently looking for a manager with leadership experience in a retail environment to elevate our team. Martens-Trilling True Value is a family owned and operated Retail Hardware Store, it is the oldest Full- Service Hardware Store in Wisconsin. We are searching for a high energy hands on Team Leader with excellent customer service skills, inventory control, product ordering, merchandising, staff training, and assist in safety management for both our employees and customers.
TEAM LEADER:
Priority Role is Lead the Team in the daily operation of the store.
Primary Responsibilities:
*Top Notch Customer Service skills, with a positive attitude, answer customer questions and resolve customer inquires and concerns in a professional manner.
*Motivated, self-starter, energized to inspire the whole team to achieve monthly goals. Taking the initiative to new challenges and responsibilities.
* Assist in maintaining a well-stocked store, this includes checking and verifying inventory counts, learning product location in the store whether on peg or/and back stock.
* Managing employees and projects by delegating the workload so work is completed in a timely manner.
* Computer experience with a Point of Sale system and willingness to learn our system first and then add important input as we grow.
* Assist the Team with unloading weekly delivery truck, organize merchandise, and help put back stock away properly.
* Assistance in loss prevention efforts, damage control and quality control.
* Setting an example in following all companies’ policies and procedures. This includes safeguards for protection of all assets, property, and equipment.
* Keep Store Manager fully informed on all store issues, employee, product and/or equipment.
Skills:
Must be approachable, friendly, creative, diligent and reliable. Be able to manage employees as well as projects, make effective decisions which includes judgement and decision making.
Strong leadership, willing to lead, take charge, offer opinions, keeping stress under control, open to change, being concerned about your team and how effective they work together to achieve a positive work environment.
Plus would be forklift experience.
Availability: Ability to work full time schedule to include days, some evenings (to 7:00 p.m.) Every other week-end (will have two week-ends OFF a month) and work some holidays. This position includes being a key holder that will open and close the store and the ability to stand in for the manager.
Education Requirements: Prefer completion of high school or equivalent. Ability read, write, interpret and explain to others operational directives.
Experience: Prefer store management experience in retail, grocery and hardware store a plus. (We are not looking for a background in food service). Knowledge of customer and personal service. General knowledge of sales and marketing with the understanding of promoting and selling of products
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 25 plus pounds, must be able to stand for over 4 hours including walking and moving about the store. Must be able to climb ladders, reach, lift, bend, kneel and climb stairs.

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 34.00 – 40.00 per week
