What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Manager / Service Writer position at Marti Auto Service?
SUMMARY:
Marti Auto Service strives to offer its’ clients expert maintenance and repair solutions. The Shop manager/Service writer is responsible for a smooth and efficient operation. Must supervise shop production, making sure technicians are properly assigned and repair orders are followed precisely. Jobs are to be checked for accuracy and completeness, and must be a good time manager. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualification.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must carefully listen to the client’s request or explanation of the issue they are experiencing,
then proceed to write the service order
- Ensures the estimate is approved by the client before proceeding with the job
- Assigns technicians to perform the tasks or repairs as needed
- Supervises the repairs performed for completeness, accuracy, and in a timely matter
- Must verify that the work was preformed correctly and test drive, if needed
- Reviews invoices to make sure the billing is accurate, before it is handed to the client
- Makes sure that all technicians and staff report to work as scheduled and on time, everyday
- Has the authority to enforce company policies and administer discipline
- Coordinates lunch breaks and ensures that all tasks are completed before dismissing anyone at the end of the day
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or a GED required
- Must have a minimum of 5-years of automotive repair experience
- Have the ability to operate diagnostic tools and know how to interpret the data
- Have a valid driver's license
- Must have great communication skills

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
