The estimator/Project Manager will plan, coordinate, and supervise Highway and Heavy Civil estimating projects and will provide technical and administrative direction.

Duties
- Assist executives and project management to determine what types of projects to bid and bid strategies and techniques.
- Manage entire estimating process and preparation of unit price bids.
- Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, and other project documentation as required.
- Uphold the core values of the company.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
Qualifications and Experience
- BS, construction management or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
- Advanced management or technical training preferred.
- Experience working with Federal, Caltrans and local agencies.
- Extensive (10 plus years) experience in road, bridge, and heavy civil estimating and related functions plus thorough knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts required.
- Excellent organizational, supervisory and decision making/problem solving skills essential.
- Applicant should be experienced in quantity takeoffs and pricing for the following trades: excavation, grading, underground utilities, water treatment plants and paving.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail.

- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Primavera P-6
- Willing to Learn Viewpoint Construction Software and HCSS Heavy Bid
- Bluebeam, Planswift, Drafting a plus

Working Conditions
The office environment is a low to medium risk area. Computers and phones are constantly in use. Work in the construction area poses significantly greater risk due to moving construction equipment and active construction zones with trip and fall hazards, and movement across uneven terrain. Majority of work is performed outdoors with exposure to extremes of heat and cold temperatures and inclement weather.
Physical Demands
While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The incumbent is occasionally required to kneel, crouch or stoop or operate in confined spaces. The incumbent on occasion may lift, move or push up to 50 pounds, and frequently lift, move or push up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. Extended periods of standing. Climbing up and down stairs and ascending/descending a ladder, and entering and exiting vehicles is required. Driving of a vehicle is required.
