Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Probation Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supervising individuals placed on probation, ensuring compliance with court-ordered conditions, and facilitating their rehabilitation. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to manage crises effectively, and a commitment to supporting individuals in their journey toward positive change.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise probationers and ensure compliance with the terms of their probation.
  • Conduct regular meetings and interviews with probationers to assess their progress and challenges.
  • Develop individualized case management plans that address the needs of each probationer.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior changes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of interactions, progress reports, and case notes.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, social services, and community organizations to provide resources and support.
  • Monitor probationers’ participation in mandated programs such as counseling or community service.
  • Respond effectively to crises or violations of probation terms, implementing appropriate interventions.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for court hearings regarding the status of probationers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in law enforcement or social work is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in crisis management and conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency in case management practices and report writing.
  • Excellent interviewing skills with an emphasis on motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Pay: $42,311.00 - $50,669.00 per year
