BEACH ATTENDANT
SeaSide Café – Stuart Beach

Work Schedule: varies - must be available to work both Saturday and Sunday
Pay Rate: $14 per hour possible Benefits

SUMMARY:
This is a skilled position that focuses on providing customer service through the assigned areas and may involve: opening/closing facilities, setting up and breaking down of events and activities, cash handling and processing customer transactions, deliveries, other general parks and recreation support activities. Work is reviewed through employee observation, facility inspection written and oral reports.
In the event of a natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee may be required to perform emergency duties as directed.

Beach Chair Attendant Position Responsibilities include set up breakdown of beach chairs and umbrellas, trash, bussing tables and dishes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collect fees or other charges from the guest while operating a POS (Point of Sale) computerized revenue collection system and takes registrations for recreation programs and facility reservations
Balance cash drawer to ensure money received matches sales processed.
Answer phone inquiries and give information to the public accurately and courteously.
Greets visitors; provides information to customers.
Monitors activities.
May perform clerical duties and janitorial/light cleaning duties as position requires.
Work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
Performs work related to this job description as required.
Take inventory of supplies and equipment to maintain stock at required operational level; receive and account for all merchandise handled at the facility; reconcile delivery documents with orders received and forward documents for processing.
Stock and collect revenues from vending machines.
Clean and maintain concession facility and equipment; maintain safety and security of facility and equipment.
Operate a c café by preparing and providing patrons with supplies, refreshments, confectionery items requested and customer receipts.
Prepare food and equipment for daily concession operations.
Receive, organize and stock food inventory daily.
Fills containers with condiments and beverages, prepares both hot and cold food items.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of basic sanitation and safety requirements for the handling of food.
Knowledge of the operational and maintenance requirements of the equipment utilized in the facility to which assigned.
Knowledge of rules, regulations, and safety precautions related to recreational activities.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and co-workers.
Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all ages, including interaction with children, adults, the elderly and persons with special needs.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
Ability to maintain facilities clear of safety hazards.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Upon assignment, must possess Current Food Service Handler certification within thirty (30) days of employment (certification offered on premise) if working with food.
Position may require first aid/CPR certification to be obtained within the first 6 months of hire and maintain same certifications as a condition of continued employment.
